Born and raised in southeast Tennessee, David received Jesus Christ as Lord at the age of twelve. He worked in architecture and construction-related fields for fourteen years before the Lord began to move on His heart to lead him into full-time Christian service. He began his pursuit of God’s calling by attending seminary classes while working full-time. Over the next 22 years he served as pastor and associate pastor in various churches in the Chattanooga area before coming to Teen Challenge of the Mid-South. He holds bachelors and masters degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary as well as a doctorate in theology from Covington Theological Seminary in North Georgia. David has been married to Gayla for 31 years and they have two beautiful daughters, Kelley, who lives in Alexandria, Virginia, and Haley who lives in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee with her husband, Trevor.
